Evan Sheridan is pastry chef of the Forbes Five Star, AAA Five Diamond The Umstead Hotel and Spa and its signature restaurant, Herons. We are honored that he will be a part of the “Taste For a Cure: Chef’s Gala Benefiting Melanoma Research” culinary team. Chef Evans creative approach is exceptional. His attention to detail and taste is perfection.
When I first reached out to Chef Evan about being one of our featured chefs I was amazed at his fast response and willingness to learn more about the cause and how he could help. A few weeks later I found myself meeting with Chef Evan and his wonderful event planner Caroline Jackson-Allen. Chef Evan arrived with a box of warm mini chocolate soufflés and my mouth immediately began watering! Once I regained my focus we talked about Chef Evan’s amazing plans for the gala. His commitment to planning and using locally sourced ingredients is remarkable. As I left our meeting I honestly had to pinch myself. What began as a small idea had turned into a gala with some of the most amazingly talented chefs in the state. I was truly humbled by the fact that such a busy, famous and talented chef would be one of the gala’s featured chefs. How lucky are we?
