Biography

Brian was born in Ohio but grew up in Durham. He has “worked everywhere” from Duke to a therapeutic horseback riding farm in Asheville. Four years ago he started working at The Federal, working his way up to Executive Chef. “My first real kitchen line experience was when I started at the fed 4 years ago, before that cooking was just something I loved. I love The Federal because I’m not constrained to any genre (Italian, Spanish, Americana, etc) so I’m free to work with anything I want to and pull from all genres. Also I love the fed because I have a great staff who I respect and they respect me. I’ve involved my staff in every aspect of the creation of these dishes and couldn’t do any of this without their support.”
